We first came to Maussane 20 years ago, and have returned two or three times each year ever since. It has a wonderful local community, large enough to support a selection of shops and restaurants, and sufficiently small truly to be called a village.
This small and friendly house is known by the locals as La Maison Anglaise, as it is the only house in the village owned by and known for its English inhabitants. Few people speak much English, but friendly gesticulation served us well for many years (and, we must admit, sometimes still does).
27 Place de l'Eglise can be rented year round. The charges are: July/August £470pw, April/May/June/September/October £350pw, and £200pw + heating from November to March inclusive. Please note that bookings are for whole weeks only, and that this is a non-smoking household. If a week falls across two differently priced months, then the charges will be applied proportionally. Booking is only by telephone (see below); we would be happy to discuss with you any specific requirements you may have.
Phone us on 0208 693 2801 and ask to speak to Jan if you need booking information, have any questions, or would simply like us to tell you more about the area. Alternatively, you can send an email to: janberry_uk@hotmail.com, Re: Staying in France
How to get here:
By road - A7 (Autoroute) southbound, take the exit for 'St. Remy'.
A car is essential, both to get to the village and, once you've arrived, for getting to and from anywhere beyond the village itself. If you prefer not to drive all the way from the UK, you can hire a car at all the arrival points listed below. There are also buses between Maussane and Arles (see region map).
By rail - Eurostar (or Eurostar & T.G.V.) to Avignon (30 minute drive)
By air - London Stanstead to Nimes (30 minute drive), London Gatwick/Heathow to Marseille (45 minute drive).
